I have Rasplex v1.8.0 on a Raspberry Pi 3 connected to an older generation LG Smart TV.
CEC (LG calls it Simplink) is working perfectly when I use Rasplex.
I can use the TV remote to wake up the Rasplex and control everything just fine.
I also have a laptop and a cable box connected via HDMI. (These are not seen as supporting CEC.)
(Side note: If I turn off the cable box (standby mode) it seems to ground the CEC bus and Rasplex stops responding to the TV remote, so I always leave the cable box on.)
Now I have this weird problem where, if I am watching something via the laptop or cable box, then the HDMI input suddenly switches back to the Rasplex about every 15 minutes! I then have to manually change the input back to the cable box or laptop.
Each time this happens the TV pops up a dialog that the Rasplex can now be controlled via the TV remote (as if the Rasplex has just been plugged in or rebooted - except that it was not). So it seems that the TV redetects the Rasplex device every 15 minutes and switches to it.
Does anyone have any idea why this would happen? It’s extremely annoying.
Note that this problem seems to be fairly recent and it is possible it started after upgrading Rasplex from v1.7.x to 1.8.0 but I can’t be sure.
