Ok I just added the complete Gillian’s Island series to my server library. It also includes all 3 feature length TV movies. But no matter where I put them in the TV Show Directory, the Plex system doesn’t show them. Any ideas?
Movies can’t go in a TV type library.
They need to be named like any other movie and put in a movie library
Rescue from Gilligan’s Island (1978).mkv
Or you can configure that show to use the Aird TheTVDb order and organize the 3 movies as specials of the show.

Yeah I just looked and was about to correct my post. It looks like the TMDB lists them as specials also except the show poster appears to be in another language
Make a folder named Specials or Season 00 and put it alongside your other season folders
Thanks for responding but that suggestion didn’t work. The only thing that has worked is putting them in the movies folder. But that isn’t ideal because now they are separated from the rest of the series and they’re not really movies just TV movies. But at least now they show up somewhere. Thanks for your help everyone!
They do work (in fact, I was looking for a better copy of “The Castaways” just yesterday). If you use TVDB, you must name the episodes as :
S00E02 - Rescue from Gilligan's Island
S00E03 - The Castaways on Gilligan's Island
S00E04 - The Harlem Globetrotters on Gilligan's Island
or something similar, only the numbers really matters.
If you haven’t changed the numbering system to use TVDB (Edit Library, or just the show itself) then you are currently on the default TMDB. TheMovieDB wants them to be:
S00E02 - Rescue from Gilligan's Island
S00E06 - The Castaways on Gilligan's Island
S00E07 - The Harlem Globetrotters on Gilligan's Island
Place these files in a Specials folder within your TV show next to Season 01, 02, and 03. Scan.
YES! It works. Thank you. Now I just have to decide which way is better. Having all things Gilligan together but dealing with the terrible poster images on these specials, or putting them with the movies where for some reason the poster frames are correct and look much nicer.
You can manually add posters if that is your concern.

Yeah, TV episodes rarely have good posters. Plex displays all episodes themselves using a wide landscape format, while season and show posters are portrait. I’ve seen a few episodes where someone has gone through and made up episode-level posters and uploaded them to TVDB (and thus my server picked them up).
Doesn’t look like there are any for Gilligan’s Island Specials. My server seems to have taken random pictures from the episode itself, which are all pretty blah.
