BBC 3 only starts airing at 7pm in the UK. I have noticed that if I set the ‘minutes before’ to anything other than 0 for a show that starts at 7pm, the programme fails to record.
For instance, Top Gear is currently being shown on BBC 3 HD starting at 7pm. I have the PVR to start recording 3 minutes before in case a programme starts early but every episode of Top Gear that starts at 7pm fails to record. If I set the ‘minutes before’ to 0 it does record.
This is presumably because the channel does not start broadcasting until 7pm, but other PVR platforms seem to manage this without issue using the same pre-record settings.
I’m sure this isn’t the only channel that does not air 24/7 so I’m sure there must be a way to code for this type of instance.
