I originally posted this in the Windows area, but I haven’t received a reply so I’m trying again here.
I’m a novice user, focusing on using Plex as a television DVR with HDHomeRun tuners. I’m in the Washington, DC area and my cable provider is Verizon FIOS.
I’m running version 1.9.4.4325 of the Plex server on a Windows 10 PC that is fully updated. When I schedule a recording it sometimes works and sometimes doesn’t. Failures appear in the Recording Schedule screen with a yellow warning icon; when I click through the error message is “There was a transcoder error.”
I’m attaching logs from a failure on 10/17. I tried to record a MSNBC program at 3:00 pm on channel 603. This channel is included with my FIOS bundle and I can play the live content using the HDHomeRun application.
I’d appreciate any help!
If I should already know the answer to this question please excuse me, but is there documentation for the logs? Or specific error messages? I’m a retired software developer and could probably do some of my own detective work if I had some documentation.
