TV scanner no longer finding any media

My server will no longer see any new TV media. It does not add any new series or episodes of any existing series. Movies and music still work fine, but I am unable to add any additional media to TV. Currently the TV library is using Plex TV Series for both scanner and agent. I have also tried switching to TVDB, but it still does no find any media. If I change to folder view, it does not even see the new folders.

Have you already taken a look at your server logs to check for some obvious error messages (e.g. file access problems, database corruption…)?

A few errors and warnings that I have seen before, but nothing that jumps out at me that could be the issue. Another thing I have noticed is that if I select a file and delete it from the web interface, it is not deleted from the file system.

OK, I think I am getting closer. I have 2 hard drives with media. Media placed on 1 drive is seen and imported fine, media on the second drive is not. It seems like the scanner will not see media on the second drive. I just went through and checked to make sure the drive is listed as part of the library and checked to make sure they both have the same permissions. They “look” the same.

Server logs added to original post now. It seems that the scanner will no longer read the 1 specific drive. It’s in an external case connected via USB. Plex is still able to play media from that drive so it can access it, it just will not scan anything new added to it.

N:\Media\Television. Just noticed another thing strange. I tried to add a new folder to the library. when I attempt to modify any of the libraries, movies, TV, or music none of them will allow be to select any folder on an external drive. The external drives show and any files on the drives show, but no folders on any USB drive show in the browser.

What agent are you using? Im seeing a plugin error, not sure if its related.

OK, not sure what the cause was, but I have it fixed. I shut down the server completely. Turned off all external drives then powered everything back up one at a time. Added the media to the drive and did a scan, and it is working now. Plex even sees all folders on the external drives again. At this point I am thinking it was an issue with the OS rather then an issue with Plex. Just something odd happening with the external USB drives.
