TV Season Not Showing Up

I cannot get The All New Super Friends Hour to show up on my Plex app. What am I doing wrong?

Example of naming: E13 Frozen Peril-Dangerous Prank-The Mummy of Nazca-Cable Car Rescue.avi

That is bad naming, follow the guide → https://support.plex.tv/articles/naming-and-organizing-your-tv-show-files/

Thanks my brain cannot wrap around the naming can I get an example with what I provided. Just easier for me to comprehend. If that is possible.

  • The All-New Super Friends Hour (1977) {tmdb-10159}
    • Season 01
      • Frozen Peril-Dangerous Prank-The Mummy of Nazca-Cable Car Rescue S01E13.avi

In above, you have show folder, season folder and episode name

Interesting, I usually put the episode name after the episode number (if I include it at all).
So for the above I would have simplified it to
The All-New Super Friends Hour (1977) - S01E13
or
The All-New Super Friends Hour (1977) - S01E13- Frozen Peril-Dangerous Prank-The Mummy of Nazca-Cable Car Rescue
But that name is probably too long so I would go with the former and let PLEX add the episode name.

I’d leave out the show name, as the folder it is within is already enough for Plex to determine which show the episode belongs to. So my preferred name would be: “S01E13 - Frozen Peril-Dangerous Prank-The Mummy of Nazca-Cable Car Rescue.avi”.

I THINK THIS IS HOW IT WORKS, BUT I HAVEN’T TESTED IT!
But the bare minimum for an episode (in a properly labeled show folder), would probably be… “E13.avi”. I think that if there is no season part in the name, it assumes the episode is from season 1 REGARDLESS OF THE FOLDER NAME. So if you have a lot of

Season 01/
     /E01
     /E02
     /etc
Season 02
     /E01
     /E02
     /etc

Then it will give you only episodes in season 1, with a duplicate of each.

That’s not to say it is a proper way to do it. Even if I have a single season show, I always include the season number in it anyway. It’s only 3 more characters. But these can be in the root of the show’s folder, no need for a “Season 01” folder if there is no other seasons.

I stick the E01SXX on there out of habit. PLEX isn’t the smartest thing in the world so why make it harder than required? You can skip the show name if the folder is ok and you don’t need the episode name at all. Techincally you can do with S01E1.whatever and it will work.

SxxEyy is mandatory !

You may say so, but I’ve had a folder of just simple numbers get arranged as episodes in a show. This was back before I overhauled my library for Plex and added the season numbers back in (Also recently when I was helping someone in these forums with an issue). So I know it works, but I offer no guarantee how well it works. As I said at the end of the post, I still highly recommend including the “Sxx” in the name even for single season shows, since it only adds 3 characters to the file name.

Legacy agent was a lot more forgiven, and own naming std. might have worked in some cases.
New native agents are a lot more strict regarding following the naming std, and as I said, it’s mandatory, so please use to avoid problems
