Having trouble adding my TV Show folder. I had everything running smoothly but did a clean install of everything on my QNAP. My naming scheme for TV shows is:
…TV Shows
…Series Name
…1x01 - Episode Title
…1x02 - Episode Title
…Series Name
…1x01 - Episode Title
…1x02 - Episode Title
This was working fine and was able to pull metadata and everything, until I reinstalled Plex, now when I add the library its not showing anything at all in the library. Not sure what changed in the 30 min it took for me to reinstall Plex. I did read the naming convention rules at https://support.plex.tv/articles/categories/media-preparation/ , but I dont see why it worked before and now all of a sudden nothing is working.
Is there any way to add my own naming to follow the naming scheme Im already using? Its a deal breaker if Im now required to go through and rename and reorganize 4tb of data.
That naming is simply wrong. Try this:
TV Shows <— The library points here
---------TV Show Name (Year first aired if needed) <— This folder holds the season folders
------------------Season 01 <— This folder holds all the episodes for season 01
-------------------------ShowName - s01e01 - Episode Name.ext
-------------------------ShowName - s01e02 - Episode Name.ext
-------------------------And so on for the rest of season 01
------------------Season 02 <— This folder holds all the episodes for season 02
-------------------------ShowName - s02e01 - Episode Name.ext
-------------------------ShowName - s02e02 - Episode Name.ext
-------------------------And so on for the rest of season 02

Note: The year after the show name is only normally needed or desired if there is more that one show with exactly the same name. Check http://thetvdb.com/ if you are not sure and match exactly the name used there. There are some exceptions to this where the year is needed even if there is no other show of that name or if the show does not have the year in TheTVDB.
There are naming methods other than the above that work but this does work 99.9% of the time.
If you are going to use Plex it is best to use the proper naming conventions so Plex makes the best match possible. Trying to force Plex to use other naming methods is just asking for frustration.

Or if ya wanna give yourself some grief u can change the default in filebot to almost anything and go for it.

Filebot’s default setting will give you exactly the wrong schema.
You need to edit its preferences and put in the [plex] pattern.

ok - I beleive you, I play with so many settings I must have changed Filebot also. !
Interestingly in Filebot
{n} - {s00e00} - {t} (lowercase)
Shows as Firefly - S01E01 - Serenity (Season and Episode in upper case)
