TV Shows - How to revert to old way of naming

Hi,

I have quite a few TV Series that I have named as such:

Star Trek Discovery - S01E01 - The Vulcan Hello.mp4

Star Trek Discovery - S01E15 - Will You Take My Hand.mp4
Star Trek Discovery - S01E100 - Opening Sequence.mp4
Star Trek Discovery - S01E101 - Concepts And Casting.mp4

Each of the episodes, including the specials/extras, also has the “title” metadata flag set to the name of the episode. This used to show up in the players with episodes 100+ appropriately titled, but now they just show up as “Episode 100” “Episode 101” etc.

I know Plex changed its TV agent to support extras (similar to how the movies work), however it has apparently also discontinued support for the previous way of naming episodes.

I much prefer the original way of naming specials, but can’t seem to figure out how to get it working again. Any ideas how?

the naming of specials has not changed in that they have always been season 0, which is common to both TheTVDB and TheMovieDB

Star Trek Discovery - S00E01 - Will You Take My Hand.mp4

To pick up embedded metadata in an mp4 with new Plex TV Series agent then prefer local metadata needs to be enabled for the library. This has nothing to do with the naming of the file. It has never gotten episode titles from the file name.

if you are using the older agents then in the server agent settinsg you need Local Media Assets enabled and in higher priority than the base agent

new agent settings are in the library advanced settings

It works, thanks!
