To add to my previous post I am currently testing a TV small library that I created with the agent set to “Personal media data” as the does not seem to be a “none” option. I will post back later as to how that turns out.

Listen. The program OBVIOUSLY gets the information from the filename and splits it up before sending it to these scrapers. So why can it simply not display my titles?
Because it takes awhile for Plex to download the names(titles) of the episodes.
Here is an example from my own library.
As you can see, eps 19 thru 22 have no title. And I added them 2 days ago.
And, the only thing Plex scrapes from the filename is SxxExx . It doesn’t care about anything else.
And before you ask. Plex is a software design to search online and match your content and give pretty pictures and synopsis and all kinds of eye candy. That was and is what Plex is about.
Without it, then it might as well be another file explorer or another DLNA server.
That said. Here is a post that might interest you.
OK. Reporting back. If you setup a TV library with “Personal Media Shows” as your agent the Plex makes a “real” library witout metadata and user the filename(s) as labels. So I guess that is the way to go for those that want to do all the work and not have Plex look beautiful.

I don’t know what to tell you about that, but I live in West (by God) Virginia, AKA The Armpit of the Known Universe, in a ravine so deep nobody here ever saw the sun until 1946 when the Army Corp of Engineers ran it in on poles. I do have, via a miracle of modern marvels, a fairly decent internet connection (60/6).
I set up a test library with Gotham Season 03, that I watched and deleted last week, but ran it in again just now as a test with the standard test files I use for everything. As far as Plex was concerned it was brand new 'cause I’ve cleaned bundles a dozen times (or more) since then.
Anyway, from the time I got the spinner indicating the show was being indexed until the time all episodes were listed and fully populated was exactly 39 seconds.
Here’s the layout and this is exactly the way it came in - with the last two episodes joined and named appropriately:
And here is what the season looks like:
This stuff isn’t really rocket science, but I guess it does take some getting used to.
Here’s where I stand:
If the patient wants treatment:
Log Files
and the name of the show that’s trying to be matched.
Period.
If the patient doesn’t want treatment, have him sign the release forms, get him in a wheelchair and roll him out to the curb. Mrs. Hightower has a hangnail, a dead husband, his entire estate and a bottle of Single Malt in Room 503…
Gotta go…

No eye candy??? Say it ain’t so.
It looks like you still used an online database. First off, you don’t have titles in the filenames, which is a dead giveaway. I don’t know how many times I need to spell this out. I don’t want any of the online nonsense, because it’s not correct. FFS, why is this so hard for you all to grasp? I’ve given you the name of one show I was testing, and I uploaded a log file. FFS. When doing things offline, why can’t you people make it get the title from the filename? When doing things offline, why can’t you people make it display a multipart episode as one file, listing both (or more) episode numbers (“Episodes 1 & 2” for example)? FFS.
FOR THE LAST TIME. I AM NOT TRYING TO MATCH TO ANY ONLINE DATABASE. YOU PEOPLE KEEP GIVING YOUR SILLY LITTLE PERSONAL EXAMPLES WITH THE ONLINE MATCHING. JUST STOP. FFS. YOU PEOPLE MAY AS WELL JUST DELETE THIS WHOLE THREAD. COMING HERE WAS AS USELESS AS MY PAST ENDEAVORS WITH OTHER RETARDED PROGRAMS. FFS.
Really, it wouldn’t be very hard to implement doing what I’ve said. If I can make a perl script to change from my naming convention to yours, in a matter of less than an hour, you can add something so simple to your program, for those who don’t want to use online crap. Since getting no information online, it would be wiser to show a single file that holds multiple episodes as one item, with it saying something like “Episodes X + Y (+ Z)”, because it wouldn’t know where to start the second part.
I don’t have access to that.
If you don’t want to match with an online database do this:

Or this:
Those were ‘Unmatchables’ anyway - having no listing in any database. All I want is to watch and delete them so an ‘Other Videos’ Library wherein Plex just displays the file name and grabs a frame for the poster is all that is required. I didn’t feel it was necessary to actually add those items to TVDB - but I could have if I’d have wanted to keep them. I am a contributing member of TVDB and TMDB and do so often.
Again - conform to the way Plex was designed to work - with online databases - find a work around - or admit Plex isn’t right for you and move on.
This can be really easy.
You refuse to give an inch.
I’m done here.
I don’t want to do that. It’s no better than just having a list of files in a file manager. Stupidity. It already gets the season and episode from the file name, so it should be able to get the title. This is so simple, that not implementing this is utter stupidity. It doesn’t seem any of these retarded programs will work for me. At least something like Kodi has the ability to make custom scrapers with a regex. No, it’s you assholes who refuse to give an inch. You refuse to read my posts and understand what I’m looking for. You people keep repeating yourselves with the same nonsense that has nothing to do about of what I’m speaking. You post links that I cannot access. Why should I give you my money? To read something that is likely not going to work?
Hahahaha. Really. You are demanding that Plex change the way it populates metadata because you don’t want to use the software the way it was designed. That’s not going to happen. Period. This is the way Plex scrapes metadata for TV shows, movies, music, etc. Jesus, why don’t you just add tags to your MP4 files with whatever crap you want, make a different library, throw them in there, and let Plex attempt to pick out the garbage you add in.
Or don’t. Maybe just move along and write your own software to do what you want.
You’re looking for something Plex wasn’t designed to do, but while you were composing your latest rant I had a little fun with what @Elijah_Baley suggested:
Created a TV Show Library and made the Agent Personal Media Scanner.
Then I had a little fun with some edits.
And a posthumous apology to the Great Ingrid Bergman who gave her movie extra for the making of this documentary without who’s unwilling cooperation this production could not have been made:
I suppose I could have fiddled with the file name so I wouldn’t have had to fiddle with the edits, but I was in tears through most of this and a bit distracted.
LOL!
Ok… with that… I’m outta here.

Exactly!! That is the whole point. Plex is more then a simple file manager.
We know what you are asking for BUT plex cannot do it. Plex does look at the file name BUT only to match the information to a online database and display it to you. That is the magic of Plex. The idea was little work for the user to yield great results.
You think that’s bad! Ha… I don’t understand why my FTP server can’t download stuff. What the HELL.

Nice to know. I know it’s not internet connection(400/20). So… You may have more agents then me. I’m sure you do. That may be the reason it’s takes many days to download all the metadata.
But… At least it does load the missing metadata sooner or later.
Okay @ramicio. I found a solution for you.
What you need
1) All of MP4 files(may work with others.. I don’t Know)
2) Metadata editor(Windows Explorer can do it)
3) Some pictures if you want it to look pretty.
4) Patience.
First, create a library like @Elijah_Baley suggested to you.
The results

TheTVDBDVDorderagent was one I added many moons ago, but now isn’t needed.
The feature was added recently.

LOL!! WOW! I have more then you. That must be my problem… Damn agents. They never listen to me.
It’s a very good thing I don’t give a sh#t or I’d be a mad mofo. With every new update I see Plex breaking more and more. MAN, I can’t wait for v2.0. It’s going to be so awesome! Yes, yes. Indeed. Cone on PLEX. Where is my 2.0 at??? I want it now.
Maybe you should turn off a bunch of them and go… uh… ‘Stock’.
(in the order presented may also be a good idea)
