TV Tuner won't tune and DVR is also nonfunctional

This has been a problem since the last PMS update. The guide shows fine. Plex shows my tuner correctly. The Plex Channels play correctly. But when I try to use my tuner to watch live TV from the local guide, the tv program starts to load and then it stops and says: “Playback Error. This live tv session has ended.” This happens on every channel. Needless to say, the DVR is not working because the tuner can’t access the channels.

I know the antenna is working because I can watch all of the live TV via the HDHomeRun app. That works fine. I have tried all of the suggestions in posts in the Forum but none of them have worked. Specifically, I had quit PMS twice and restarted it. No change. I have deleted the tuner and reinstalled it 3 times. No change. I even deleted PMS from my system, completely shut down my computer, restarted the computer and then reinstalled the PMS from scratch using a fresh app download from the Plex website. Needless to say, that was a 4th reinstallatioin of the tuner. No change. My Mac Mini M4 is running Mac Tahoe 26.2. Everything else in Plex is working fine. It is just that Plex can’t access the tuner either for live viewing or for DVR. I would love to be able to get back to working as well as it was before the Feb 11 update. I have tried everything I know. I am open to any and all suggestions.

I have the same issue. Tried everything. Removed the tuner, readded it. Gone to the hdhomerun.local website and refreshed all channels, readded the tuner again. Tried turning on (it was off) transcoding, and then turning back off. Nothing seems to work. For me, the tuner worked last week, and now doesn’t. Trying to find help for this issue hasn’t lead me to any solutions. Live TV is unusable in Plex for me.

This will probably get dumped by admins, but I have been so frustrated with this problem and the lack of any sort of response from Plex that I have switched to Emby. Everything is working fine there - HD HomeRun tuner, DVR, everything. My Plex Pass is still valid, but I won’t renew.

Thank you BigWheel, since this looks to be an issue that’s been known for a little while, it does seem strange I only just started to have the issue. Is there a planned fix that will be implemented soon?

I don’t know how soon a fix will land but looking at bug report it has to due with a needed ffmpeg update.

My DVR setup (TVHeadEnd → Antennas → Plex) stopped working in the past few days. Replaced Antennas with xTeVe and still the same issue. Deleting everything and set it all up again and same issue. Ditched the latest Plex version (1.43.1) and gone back to 1.43.0 and it’s working again.
