Been using Plex on the same Hisense TV/Macbook Pro for years now. Both devices on same wifi network. A few days ago the TV app stopped syncing to/detecting my media server. I tried signing in/out, uninstall/reinstall on both TV and computer, restarting devices, etc, nothing worked. Eventually I tried resetting my router, and that would make it work, but only for a couple of hours before the problem started again. On Reddit, someone recommended going to /Library/Caches/PlexMediaServer and deleting cert-v2.p12 to force it to grab a different cert. That seemed to fix it, but a few days later, notably after a Macbook restart (after crash due to low battery), the TV app once again will not detect the media server. Deleting the cert-v2.p12 file is no longer a fix, and cert-v2.p12 just reappears again the cache folder, rather than a different cert. This was the feedback from a reddit user:
“If you delete the cert, it should be issuing you the older non v2 version. The fact that it keeps sending you the new one (v2) indicates they’ve stopped issuing that one, at least that’s my guess. If that’s the case it’s going to start impacting many others that have been having the issue over the last few months.”
Debug log from the web app and media server logs attached.
