Was wondering what changes if any is known about when the TVDB starts using it new API V4… and disables the old…
there is another thread somewhere on this topic.
I searched for it first and didn’t find anything on the new V4 release.
Yeah, I can’t find it now either.
Long story short, a Plex representative wrote that they were talking to theTVDB guys about it and we should not be worried…
I heard that from the other end… that they were in discussions.
Since the TVDB now wants a subscription to use their data…
Data that users have added from here and elsewhere…
And the last upgrade to their current version fiasco…
I would like to see Plex use other sources of Data from other databases…
And not get tied to one vendor, and give the Plex user the ability to add and edit data in a Plex Movie/TV database. It may actually turn out to be a better data source for all.
As my concern, TMDB (the movie database) as way more translation for other langages then english. Especially for EPISODES.
– Would still be nice to get IMDB RATING instead of TVDB. I just don’t get why they can do it with movies but not for TV shows.
– Would be nice to get the status of the TV show (still airing, ended, canceled) –
That’s why I suggested a Plex Movie/TV database using input from Plex users.
Think it would give Plex an edge once it’s implemented.
Also the amount of information for a movie, show, episode then could be tailored to the Plex experience.
The issue I keep running into is TVDB still keeps changing the release date of shows.
FYI, here’s a thread w/ comments from Plex.
Thanks… not sure why it didn’t come up when I searched for it…
Might have been because it got split into 2 posts. I had to find it through google…
