TVHeadend XMLTV, No Poster Images?

The Plex guide didn’t meet my needs with all channels, so I switched to using the XMLTV provided with TVHeadend, but now I have no poster images for shows on Live TV.

Does meta data for poster images need to in the XMLTV data? Does it not pull it from somewhere else?

Have I got any options here. Is there a setting or a plugin I can use?

The Plex EPG doesn’t map one for one. but has poster images, the XMLTV data maps perfectly one to one, but has no poster images.

The main issue is with your EPG providers — the XMLTV file probably doesn’t contain images or show posters.

You need to choose a provider that includes this functionality. For example, epg.best is one of the most efficient options.

With it, you’ll get all the poster images in your guide. However, you’ll face a new issue: the posters aren’t in the correct ratio. Plex converts them to a 1:1.5 ratio, while most EPG providers deliver 16:9 posters, and Plex doesn’t rescale them.

It’s not visually pleasant. I’m still working on a way to display the posters with the correct ratio to ensure the best user experience.

I’ll let you know as soon as I find a solution.
