Ubuntu 20.04 new install from ISO. Hauppauge drivers added via Hauppauge tutorial floating around. OS can see dualHD on USB fine now. Installed Plex media server latest from snap. Gave all permissions, it literally has all permissions possible checked now. Haha

From within snapd plexmediaserver plex server config site, when trying to add the hauppauge dualHD…it won’t show as available. I am confused about the purpose of the permission “direct access to USB”. Should this be off with thought being that the snapd would go through kernel and pickup drivers installed earlier? I notice my USB dualHD are on the compatability list for plexmediaserver, so would direct access to USB override local os sort of and just plexmediaserver to talk vis its own drivers (sort of)?

There is no group on the box for video after install of OS or hauppauge drivers from their tutorial.

Thanks in advance for help.

To make this work best, don’t use SNAP packaging (the Ubuntu store)

The regular DEB package can complete the configuration for you automatically now that the drivers are installed.
