This morning, a friend told me he was having some Plex problems last night around 8:30pm. I looked in the syslog file and saw TONS of entries for this:

The time stamps in syslog lined up with when he was having problems. Any idea what caused all that? He said he was getting the error about “the network isn’t fast enough…”

Attaching log files, thank you.

Those are media errors. The source file is corrupt and could not be decoded.

I tried playing the episode in question on my Apple TV and no problem. My friend tried the same episode and said it’s working fine now. One weird thing though, these are old episodes of CHiPs. When he tried playing it a 2nd time, he said it was working now and that he noticed the episodes all appear to be switched from 4:3 to widescreen. He thought maybe I put up widescreen episodes overnight and these new versions fixed it. I told him that the episodes were -always- widescreen. Maybe his TV (Roku Ultra built in) spaced out on him and has been doing some weird resolution interpolation and THAT caused the issue?!?!

I don’t know enough about Roku products (or any of the products for that matter) except for what I personally own. There is so much going on that it’s difficult to track and I have enough just to keep up on hardware & my primary duties, sorry.

No worries, thanks for taking a look!
