Server Version#: 1.41.7.9799 (Ubuntu 24.04)
Player Version#: 7.36.14.10147-675caeec-Plex (Client on Roku Ultra)
- I have Plex Pass.
- Roku Ultra & Plex Server are connected locally via Ethernet
- Roku Ultra connected to a 1080p TV.
After upgrading my Plex Server (Ubuntu) to 1.41.7.9799, my Plex Client on Roku can no longer play TV shows recorded by Plex DVR using a HD Homerun HDHR4-2US nor watch live TV sourced from the HD Homerun. Every time I try to I get “Playback Error Playback has stopped due to multiple playback errors. Please check your connection and try again”. The DVR recordings and live TV are in 1080i format.
UPDATE: Having the same issue with many movies now too.
This is on my local network using a Roku Ultra via gigabit Ethernet, no WiFi involved. Android and Windows Plex Clients play the same content with no issues.
Here are the troubleshooting steps I have taken, none have resolved the issue:
- Optimized the database
- Performed Clean Bundles
- Disabled Hardware Trans-coding (GTX 1050-TI)
- Reinstalled NVIDIA drivers on the server
- Set the HW decoder to use the AMD GPU in the CPU
- Restarted Plex Server Service (multiple times)
- Rebooted the computer running the Plex Server
- Deleted codecs in the
/var/lib/plexmediaserver/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Codecs directory - Removed / reinstalled Plex client on Roku, performed a hard reboot of the ROKU after removing the Plex client by removing power from the Roku
- Tried forcing direct play
- Tried disabling direct play
- Set local and remote quality to 4 mbps 720p to try and force trans-code to lower quality
I haven’t nuked Plex Server and reinstalled from scratch, hoping to avoid that headache.
