I have just checked by DVR (HDHomerun) because last night something got recorded that wasn’t what I expected.
I noticed that channel 54 (which my HDHomerun can see and Plex can see) no longer has an EPG associated with it (so I have had to deselect the channel). I have had times in the past when this channel’s EPG was 57 (which worked), but never missing.
Something else has happened because other EPG channels that has the wrong number have corrected themselves.
I am not sure what has changed but I am losing episodes because of it.
Can anyone advise? …I suspect this is beyond Plex’s control.
I have also noticed that channel 104 (Channel 4 HD) reports as an SD channel in Plex - I seem to be unable,e to record HD from this channel and this may be the reason.
OK, I have managed to fix this. I not sure why Paramount disappeared (what changed).
To fix this, I had to delete my DVR and start again but this time selecting a different EPG provider. I am actually with BT, but Plex’s BT EPG incorrectly no longer shows Paramount. I therefore selected YouView (which BT uses anyway) and got all the correct EPG channels back,
I hope this helps anyone else with the same problem.
Edit: I originally wrote that the YouView EPG didn’t show the BBC HD channels, but actually I had switched them off from HD Homerun (and forgot I had done it). If anyone is wondering why I did that, it’s because I record BBC (and ITV) content through get_iplayer and get-iplayer-automator - the advantage being that get_iplayer downloads the precise program (no commercials, nothing to trim).
