Since about a week ago, not sure exactly when, but possibly at the time of the June 2019 Freeview channel renaming (Help | Freeview), I am unable to tune Yesterday and get Dave instead.
I’ve tried to delete and recreate the DVR. Here are screenshots
Hi @mcmlxxvi,
Well, this issue is a known one, and I’ve since lost another channel this evening, Quest of all channels here in the Wenvoe Transmitter area. My total number of channels missing now stands at 11, that includes Radio stations and 2 Childrens channels on 207 & 208 plus Ideal World to add to the list.
Plex is about to unleash a new Beta version within the next 24 hours or so for us to try, and hopefully this will fix the Freeview issue as they’ll be using a new EPG.
I don’t know much else about this, unless one of the Plex “Jedi Masters” or an Employee can fill us in more?
The Local Over the Air EPG didn’t help me either, I’m stuck on the Freeview one as it had more channels on it, plus doing a Full UK TV Frequency scan gave all the channels where the Wenvoe one didn’t, which was rather strange.
Which transmitter are you getting your channels from?
I admit, I’ve never needed to know which transmitter I use… Aerial worked fine when I moved in and I don’t even know which way it points! Checking with Digital UK, it’s most likely Tacolneston.
I have my HDHomeRun set to limit the channels it reports to Plex (by setting the flag in Channel Lineup to X) so I have not been impacted by all the channel issues like you. As a test, I cleared all the X but it didn’t resolve the problem with Dave/Yesterday.
Ah, I run 3 WinTV DuoHD Tuners here, even with me limiting the 171 channels the wrong channels will always come up since the last retune and now especially today after losing Quest.
I know that Plex has been fighting a losing battle with Gracenote, or Grapefruit as I have begun to call them, with the EPG, and they have been working their nuts off to get the new EPG provider up and running, so once the new Beta version is here, they will need quite a few of us to test it. I was told that we should have a 93% more acurate EPG on Freeview rather than missing the channels here and there, so fingers crossed eh?
It’s just a shame that Plex has been hit by the Gracenote issue with channels the way it has been.
The change of the 12th June 2019 which you mentioned Help affected these channels - the table below shows the old and new channel numbers
The guide data has not been updated to accomodate for this recent change and this was referred to our development team.
You should be able to override this by manually mapping those channels to the corresponding guide channel numbers
If any channels are no longer listed by the tuner (list on left before any mapping), then it is possible that there was a frequency change. If there has been a frequency change, please let me know what it is and the exact name of the transmitter.
You can get the frequency from the detailed channels view when tuning all channels within the WinTV app
Then surely I should still have 207 & 208 and ideal world in my channel mappings then? Lost these 4 weeks ago thanks to Gracenote, I mean it would be nice to actually have these back in my list, as the kids are doing my head in now, and having 2 more kids channels, that are being transmitted by Wenvoe in Cardiff and VLC and my FreeView smart TV sees them to, and they are showing in the tubing of the dongles.
This part is fixed, but now onto the other missing channels that are being transmitted from Wenvoe Transmitter and Tonyrefail relay.
If you can do this part… I know my 3½ year old will be happy to

Just waiting now for the new EPG’s for regional area’s to come on board, once @cire12 has gotten his head around how the UK OTA TV is split up… Ah, The English know how to put a spin on how we do TV don’t we
@cire12 If you need any extra help for other regions, and you get stuck, I’ll help as much as I can. Once again I do apologise for outbursts etc, I get a little like Linus Torvalds when it comes to my media lol!!
Nice one!! so US Pacific, we’re looking at Thursday afternoon UK if my time zone brain is still working???
If you still need help breaking the sub regions up, just let me know, as I know England is a crazy ass TV setup compared to Wales, Scotland, Ireland and Channel Islands…
Ah, perfect, just in time for evening meal time
I have set up TVHeadend just as a backup, and noticed that I receive OTA DTT from a few other local Transmitters other than Tonyrefail for Local channels, but I have noticed that Plex only chooses the strongest of channels which is great, this makes life much easier for me here.
