I have Plex for over 5 years. It has never had a problem. I have a yearly subscription and running on my Windows desktop PC. A few months ago my library disappeared. I still have my friends library that I can access through Plex remotely but I don’t even have an option to add library. I have changed passwords numerous times and uninstalled plex server and applications and reinstalled and the problem persists. Does anyone have a fix to this?
See if “Plex media server” is even still installed, by looking for it in the Windows start menu.
If it is there, start it. Then go looking for the Plex logo in the Windows task tray area (on the bottom right corner, where the clock is shown. You might have to click on the chevron ^ to reveal all of them.)
If there is a Plex icon, move your mouse pointer over it. Does it vanish if you do so, or will it remain?
If the latter, you probably need You need to reclaim your server, but don't dare to touch the Windows Registry
