So I was organizing some recently added shows in my TV Shows Library. Had 3 shows, The Jeffersons, Good Times, Manimal. All 3 are new additions to the TV Shows Library. Tried to select all 3 of them to add them to a NEW COLLECTION, however, there was no option to “ADD TO…” anything, no collection, only a playlist.
So when i deselected the 3 shows (that were all selected simultaneously) and tried to add 1 at a time, I was then able to add The Jeffersons and was able to add Good Times, but then when it came to adding Manimal, now suddenly, the newly created collection does not show up…it will only allow me to create a NEW Collection… NO CLUE why this is?
They are all in the same Show library and the ONLY difference i can think of is that both the Jeffersons and Good Times have more than one season, and Manimal is just ONE SEASON. I have a vague recollection about a collection setting (that for the life of me, I can’t find, either because I just can’t remember where it was, OR Because I’m totally mistaken and I imagined the option) that tied to how many seasons in a show that may affect some setting relative to a collection… but I can’t remember what that setting is or where to find it, again, assuming i didn’t imagine it to begin with.
Bottomline though, 3 shows all with multiple episodes, but 2 of the 3 having more than one season and THOSE with multiple seasons were able to be added to a collection with ZERO problem when not grouped with the 3rd show Manimal (the one with only 1 season), but that 3rd one with only one season, when “adding to collection” is NOT recognizing that same collection created for the other 2 shows that I want to add the 3rd to as well…
Any help? Non-expert here, so please any helpers, bear this in mind… Greatly appreciated!
You need to make sure that you have selected the show itself, and not just one season of it.
This can be a bit confusing if the show has only one season and the library has been set to hide seasons if there is only one season in the show.
Make sure you are editing the show, by clicking on the show’s title. It will take you to the overall show preplay page.
If you have a collection with whole shows in it, you cannot add a single season or episodes to it. That may be the reason why the newly created collection was not offered when editing the third.
hi thanks for replying. the odd thing is that i was selecting the overall SHOW from the same screen as the other 2 shows. so all of this was being done from from the RECOMMENDED tab under that show library… SINCE THEY WERE ALL SHOWING UNDER “recently added” but it was for sire the whole show i selected and not juat a season or episode…
but interestingly enoigh i then tried going to the LIBRARY TAB, and there i was finally abley to add the 3rd one…for some reason is wouldnt gice the xiatong collection option from recommended tab even tho that worked 0erfectly for the first 2 shows no problem…only that 3rd one had to be done from library tab specifically then suddenly it oulled up the collexrion like normal…
so honestly im totally confused on what the issue was, but ultimately i got it done so should be good now…but open to any other input as to why this might have been so problematic
