Unable to cast to Chromecast from Mac Mini through PlexAmp

First, I want to say that I love PlexAmp. I am new to it but it has great potential. I look forward to seeing it evolve based on all the great suggestions users are posting.

We have no issue casting music with PlexAmp to the Chromecast from our mobile devices but we are unable to even see the Chromecast from the Mac Mini through PlexAmp.

The Mac Mini can cast to the Chromecast through other apps but not through PlexAmp. Is this suppose to work or is it still a work in process?

In case it make a difference, our Mac Mini is on Catalina version 10.15.7 and the Plex server for the music is on the Mac Mini.

Chromecast is not supported in desktop apps.

Have a look at Airfoil for Mac, will do everything you want.

Perfect! Tried Airfoil, it works like a charm! And with Airfoil Satellite, I can cast to a bluetooth speaker in my office as well.

Why then is it possible in app.plex.tv?

It’s only officially supported on desktops by Google from within a web browser
