Unable to claim server

I installed the latest version of Plex Media Server, and I’m unable to claim the server. I also can’t play any media; looks like it’s unable to download any codecs. I think both issues are related.

Also, despite having installed the latest version from https://www.plex.tv/media-server-downloads/ , the web UI still shows “an update is available”:

I’m guessing all of this is related to the Error issuing curl_easy_perform and Error parsing XML: Error parsing file. errors that are showing up in the logs?
