Server Version#: 4.76.1
Player Version#: 9.0.6.31998
I recently installed Plex Server in a Podman/Docker container. I am not using a Plex account on the server as I only plan on using this on my local network.
I am able to easily access the web UI on my local network, and I can access the server by adding an IP address on my Xbox console.
However, I am unable to stream using Android. In the app, I selected ‘Use as Guest’, and then:
- Enabled Manual Connections with my server’s IP and port.
- Set ‘Allow Insecure Connections’ to ‘Always’.
Yet there still doesn’t appear to be any place for me to see my own content. The ‘Home’ screen is unchanged, there are not additional libraries on the sidebar, as far as I can tell nothing has happened.
If I navigate to http://server_ip:port, I can load the Plex web interface on my phone, so the connectivity works fine.
Weirdly enough - if I run tcpdump on the server, and open the phone app, I don’t see any activity on port 32400, even with the manual connection, so I’m concerned the phone app isn’t attempting to connect to the server at all.
Previous documentation seemed to refer to a server picker, but I’m unable to find one in the current app?
I paid to unlock local streaming in the app, but that did not appear to resolve the problem, or enable connectivity.
Is there something I’m missing?
Thank you for any assistance.
