TrueNAS Version#: TrueNAS-12.0-U6.1
Server Version#: plexmediaserver 12.2-RELEASE-p10
Player Version#: Plex_Media_Player_2.58.1-ae73e074_x64.AppImage (Running on Linux Mint 20.2
I installed the Plex Plugin in a Jail on TrueNAS about two months ago. Everything worked well. I was able to successfully use a Plex Player on both Linux Mint system, and on an Android Tablet. There have been no changes to the Plex Plugin configuration, the Jail, or the TrueNAS server (except for installation of updates on the TrueNAS Server, and on the Plex Plugin).
After about 2 months of successful use, the Plex Players on LinuxMint and on Android started to report the error “Plex Server is Currently Unavailable”. Checking the Media Server Status on the Linux Plex Player, returns the error “PlexServer Unavailable”.
The Plex Server Admin Portal is at IP Address http://192.168.2.142:32400/web. Attempting to connect to this address from any browser on the local network returns the error "Can not establish a connection. Issuing the command ping 192.168.2.142, shows that the Plex Server Plugin is responding to pings.
Issuing the command:
royg@royg-Darter-Pro:~$ nmap 192.168.2.142 -p 32400
Starting Nmap 7.80 ( https://nmap.org ) at 2021-11-29 17:47 AEST
Nmap scan report for PlexServer (192.168.2.142)
Host is up (0.0030s latency).
PORT STATE SERVICE
32400/tcp closed plex
Nmap done: 1 IP address (1 host up) scanned in 0.04 seconds
The nmap command reports that port 32400 is closed. However the TrueNAS plugin configurator for the Plex Server states that both the Jail and the Plex Plugin are “up”, and that the Admin Portal is at http://192.168.2.142:32400/web.
Can you please advise what needs to be done to get this previously working system working again.
Signed,
Roy Gilby
