Unable to enable TV Mode on Ugoos AM8

I have a Ugoos AM8 plugged into my Roku TV
On first install a dialog asks to switch to TV Mode
On selecting TV Mode the Plex init animation logo appears (presumably reloading the app)
Returns to the same layout and the dialog reappears.

The only option it accepts is “Stay in Mobile”.

Mobile layout works but not very well - for example the ui goes beyond the tv’s edges, among other things.

Ugoos AM8 was only released a couple months ago - perhaps Plex needs to be told it’s a TV box & made compatible.

PS - there is no Settings > Experience > Application Layout offering to switch between modes
Once I click “Stay in Mobile” I’m stuck until reinstall.
