A lot of us on the zidoo forums use the Plex app for android but in TV mode, as these are android based devices but are generally hooked up to TVs. We’ve found that users doing a fresh install of the latest versions of Plex are not able to switch to TV mode. The pop up shows up asking whether to switch to TV mode or not, but when we select it, the app reloads but is still in mobile mode. I’ve also tried this on my Amazon fire android tablet, same behaviour, so I don’t expect this to be an issue with the device used, just android mobile in general. A workaround that we’ve found is to first install version 9.13.0.37280 , set tv mode on, then upgrade to the latest version, which keeps the app in tv mode.
The other thing is that once the workaround is applied, the TV Mode themes, even the default one do not work - instead, the app is always jet black, with the media backgrounds not blending properly. It appeared to be working correctly around 9.11 version, but not sure which version broke this functionality. Any help you guys could provide would be great!
