Unable to fetch cover art

I just installed the latest Plex Media Server on Windows Homeserver 2011 (based on Windows Server 2008R2). I’m unable to fetch any cover art, fan art and backgrounds. Meta data (title, descriptions etc) work fine.

The Plex Media Server.log is full of these:

Any ideas? Seems that the request for images resulted in a 404 (not found). Is something broken?

If I read that right, it says that it can’t get anything from thetvdb.com

Have you tried a different media browser, and/or checked thetvdb.com via a browser to see if the series is indeed on there?

thetvdb.com does indeed work. Did some further digging in logs and found this in com.plexapp.system.log

Seems there is an issue writing the metadata to disk. If I check for the missing file

<br />
J:\\ServerFolders\\PlexData\\Plex Media Server\\Metadata\\TV Shows\\d\\226008773cf242f3c785b08ffb1592f27eb5c45.bundle\\Contents\\_combined\\banners\\com.plexapp.agents.thetvdb_310aa2238598e226d3f338d36e9fbf2e7bdd64a3<br />

It is not there. The whole banners folder is infact empty. Then again, that might have to do with not ever fetching any in the first place.

Another reply to self.

Finally figured out the issue is that the drive I tried to use as meta-data disk was not NTFS. Plex Media Server for Windows uses a feature in NTFS called links. Changed to another drive that was “true” NTFS and it works just fine.

Should be a warning somewhere if you try to run on a non-ntfs drive.

Aw, Thanks for your post. I've been going nuts trying to figure this out. I moved my database from the C drive on my WHS to a UNC path on that same server and tv show artwork would no longer download. I'm going to try mapping a drive now. If that doesn't work then I guess I'll have spent two days on nothing as the only option I'll have is to go back to the C drive.

Oh man so glad you posted this, would of never figured it out. Thanks!
