Hello all,
I’m having a strange issue with plex media server in my ubuntu docker. I’ve done upgrades (new SSD and more ram) to my home server, and decided to to a fresh installation.
What happened is that now, I cannot see my server in the settings. I’ve confirmed and he’s present in the Authorized Devices. I’ve even generated a new claim token for this, but no luck.
Can you please help me with this issue?
I suspect the claiming didn’t go as you expected.
I’ve finally gotten some time to update my UserCredentialReset tool.
- It’s smarter about containers
- It’s able to stop and start PMS automatically as part of claiming
This update will work with LSIO and Plex, inc docker containers.
Binhex and Hotio aren’t stop/start supported yet so you’ll have to do that manually inside the container.
Extract this tar file in the /config directory (wherever it maps to on the host) then get into the container and run it.
The README is also updated (might not be complete yet)
UserCredentialReset-BETA.tar (30 KB)
Hello @ChuckPa
that was it. It wasn’t correctly claimed. After running your .sh in the container cli, its now back working.
Thank you for you assistance.

Quick question…
How well did that new version of the script work for you?
Did it find everything OK and stop/start as expected ?
Hello,
Nothing to report, it worked super well. In the docker cli, your script when for the data it needed, did what had to be done, stopped and started the process inside the container.
Everything took more or less 15 seconds.
