Server Version#: Wish I knew…none of this stuff shows up anymore.
Hello all. I’ll give as much information as I can. As far as I knew my docker container server has been functioning without issue for over a year. Earlier this week I got an email from Plex explaining that a device in Thailand had accessed my account. I only share my server with 2 very close friends but they would have their own accounts on my server. So I did what I thought I should do and reset my password. Upon resetting the password I selected the option to boot out all devices and require a password re-entry.
I assumed that since my password was reset I’d need to go on to my server and log in again which I did that evening when I had some time. I logged in as the server address works and loads up the web UI but it doesn’t find my media. I can’t seem to locate it anywhere. Since I’ve been really busy lately I haven’t accessed my server so I don’t know if this issue is stemming from the password reset or if something went haywire prior to this and I just didn’t know. My 2 shared users aren’t on it very much so they probably haven’t noticed. If they had I believe one of them would have told me.
Things I’ve tried:
- Restarting the container (multiple times)
- Editing the preferences.xml file removing my email address and a couple other fields so that it would require me to re-enter them.
- Editing my yml with a new claim code from plex.tv/claim
- Using a restored Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server folder from prior to the password reset.
Nothing seems to work. When I click the “Your Media” button I get a link to download the server software…Clearly I have it because I am accessing the web UI off of it.
I’m so confused. I have no idea what I did. Does anyone have any ideas on what to try next?

Using Ubuntu
Running Docker but use DockSTARTer to manage everything.
Have 15-ish other containers that seem to be running fine.
