I have PMS on my Windows Laptop which always has NordVPN connected. When I use PMS in this set up, I see this under Settings → Remote Access:
In spite of this message, I am still able to remote access my server when i log in to my plex client (same account but different internet network) from my Android Phone (I have paid to activate remote play on Android). However, with this set up, my video always gets transcoded on my phone with this message on the phone: direct play was attempted but failed falling back to transcoding.
But, if i disable VPN on my laptop temporarily and try, I dont get the warning from the screenshot above and Direct Play works fine.
Note: If i connect my android phone on the same network, Direct Play seems to work even with VPN turned on for my laptop.
To summarize, my issue is that with VPN on PMS, Remote Access works but not Direct Play when remote accessing. And to the best of my knowledge, it is not due to bandwidth limitations. Any help?
