Server Version#:DSM 7.1.1 - 42962 update 6
Player Version#: 1.2.2.6364-7000
Several months ago I had a hardware error which was under warranty but led to me having to reinstall everything.
I haven’t been able to get PLEX working again since.
I had a Synology DS218+ NAS which is now working fine. However I cannot get past issue.
The PMS is started on the NAS. However, I try to access from NAS and I get black screen that only says “Not authorized. You do not have access to this server”.
When I go to try from Plex Plus I get : “The server “SmilinNAS” is unreachable. Make sure it’s running, double check your network, and try again.” (SmilinNAS is the correct name of the server). I’ve doubled and tripled checked.
Something basic seems to be messed up. I’ve deleted and reinstalled multiple times and don’t know what else to try. I had this working on a previous version – not sure which. The help tutorials and such are not very helpful for this issue.
Sep 20, 2023 20:21:26.263 [0x7fce147bdb38] DEBUG - Request came in with unrecognized domain / IP '192-168-1-251.njjpk.direct.quickconnect.to' in header Host; treating as non-local
You cannot use Quick Connect, DDNS, or a FQDN to claim the server. You must use the IP address of the NAS.
Using a incognito/private browser window, from a system on the same network, go to http://192.168.1.251:32400/web. Note http, not https. See if you can login, reach server settings, and claim the server.
If it does not work:
Using Synology Package Center, uninstall Plex Media Server. Choose the “Uninstall Only” option (after the “are you sure” window).
Re-install Plex Media Server. Use the Plex Claim Token option. If successful, you will see a “successfully claimed by …” message.
Login via http://192.168.1.251:32400/web (same as before). Skip any Library setup questions. See if you can reach the server settings (Settings → Network, Remote Access, etc).
In the stdout I can see it says "Server claim successfully, navigate to HTTP://serverip:32400/web to complete plex setup
I went to that using my IP address, logged into Plex App using my email address and then still, when I go to HTTP://serverip:32400/web using the ADMIN account I get “Not authorized” error. Also when I use a managed user account I also can’t get access.
When I restore the backup of my Preferences.xml file I see it says “Server already claimed” in the Docker output. My managed user accounts CAN access my server (I can see all the media) but when I try to play something through Plex Web I get a “Conversion Failed. A required codec could not be found or failed to install.” My Admin account has the “Not authorized. You do not have access to this server Error.”.
