Had a NAS failure
Rebuilt NAS
Installed Plex on network with a Plex server already running
Tried to access new server on plex and it gives the message
Not authorized
You do not have access to this server
tried installing and deleting everything nothing I do allows me to connect or claim the server. tried using the token but it doesn’t work either
HELP
Confirm the following are true please ?
- NAS configured correctly to reach internet – required for authentication
– DNS
– Gateway
- LAN is RFC-1918 compliant addressing
If Plex Claim Token install failed.
- Stop PMS
- Make a ZIP of the Logs directory under “Plex Media Server”
Download the ZIP and attach here.
as far as I know the NAS can reach the internet (it downloaded the install package for Plex) shrug.
Plex Media Server.log (728.0 KB)
I’m an Id10t at this
The server never claimed to your account.
There are no errors . It just didn’t claim.
Because you didn’t claim, you can’t use Quick Connect yet.
'192-168-0-154.brokenXXXXXXX.direct.quickconnect.to' in header Host; treating as non-local
When you claimed the server, did you get the return result with your username?
Lastly, do you have the Syno assigned to a FQDN ?
I’m sorry I don’t understand… I have not been able to attempt to claim it. It doesn’t show up anywhere on a plex app…
What is the syno assigned to a FQDN? like I said I’m really new to this NAS world and don’t understand.
so I un installed and reinstalled and it said I claimed it but it still doesn’t showup as a server only the other server on the network shows up…
@jebrown_mn
When installation finished, in that final popup message, did it show your username?
If it did, open the server directly in a new tab. http://192.168.0.154:32400/web
yes it said it was claimed
its just not included as “nearby”
