Unable to install Plex Server APPData on local profile

Server Version#:Windows Server 2016
Player Version#:

I am having this weird dilemma. On my server my main profile used to be the built Admin Account. I used to have Plex Media Server running on this profile. Eventually, for security reason I decided to create a new user with Admin privileges. Before disabling the built in Admin account I uninstalled the Plex Media Server. Now that I had my new admin account created, I wanted to install the Plex Media Server on this profile only. This is where things get weird. So I manage to install the server on this current profile, however the Plex Media Server APPData files create its own Administrator folder. Is this normal? Why can’t the Plex Media Server install its APPData on my local profile instead of having to create a new folder called Administrator? I am very confused. Any help will be greatly appreciated, thank you.

It should. Did you accidentally run the PMS installer as the administrator?

My profile already has Administrative privileges. I never elevated the install file to run as the Administrator.

I’m not sure what happened, but PMS should install it’s appdata into “C:\Users\nameofuser\AppData\Local\Plex Media Server”.

Check your log folder and find the installer logs. If you can provide those, it may reveal why it installed the way it did.
