Unable to play DoVi Profile 5 content on Apple devices

Unable to play 4K content that has DV flags on all of my Apple TV 4Ks. Same error happens on iOS devices. Feels like a client side issue rather than a server one. Version 8.43 for Apple devices came out a week ago.

Playback Stopped
Something went wrong playing your media. Please try again.

Could not direct play because: App cannot direct play this item. No direct play video profile exists for protocol http, with container mkv, and video codec hevc.

Could not transcode because: File is unplayable. DoVi (profile 5) color space is not supported.

We’re on the same boat.

But no one from Plex seems to be reading this, no feedback so far…

Good to see years old threads discussing this issue. Infuse seems to play Dovi 5 and 8 no problem but Plex remains broken. I have a bunch of Dovi content which is unwatchable and it would be good if Plex acknowledged the problem and communicated timelines as to whether support will ever be added.

Yep - used to be no problem up until about a week ago, now I can’t play any of these files.
