Have been trying to play most videos Plex Media Server.log (5.3 MB)
on my Sony Android TV 2017 and some files for some reason dont play while others do. Previously worked fine.
The dashboard will show high bandwidth usage for a short amount of time and then goes to 0Mbps.
The same videos will work fine on my new Sony A8H 2020.
It also works ok when using VLC on the same TV or when I force it to transcode by setting max local bandwidth to 8mps.
I have the latest version of plex and the android tv Plex app.
I also have factory reset the Sony TV in question and switched from a RPI 3 to an intel X86 system.
I have attached my logs. Any suggestions would help.
I’m having a similar issue (I think) but I have a Sony A8H.
I turned off transcoding a while ago to make sure movies direct played/streamed and now hardly any titles will play on any Android Plex app despite them working before (my server is an old i5 on Windows, hasn’t got enough grunt to transcode but I don’t want to anyway).
I get unable to play media file on both my phone and the TV. HEVC, H264 video, EAC3, FLAC, DCA audio, doesn’t seem to matter.
For now I’ve gotten around the problem by using the Plex addon for Kodi but it’s not as pretty and trailers don’t work. Very frustrating!
