Unable to play media

Hello everybody,

I use Plex on several devices, including a projector, as a media player I use there the Himedia Q10. So far, everything has always been perfect, for several years already. For a few days, however, the films are no longer played via Himedia. There comes the message “unable to play media”
On the other devices it works perfectly. I have already reinstalled the app, the media player is also up to date. I have no idea where the problem lies? Maybe someone can help me?

You will likely need to provide more information.

This is the basic info you’ll need to provide:

Servers Operating System
Plex Media Server Version
Client App Version
Server Logs
App Logs (if your device has the ability to give App Logs)

In order to get good/proper server logs do the following:
On the server go to Settings>Debug
For the Debug Level choose: Enabled (Do Not choose Verbose)
Shut down the Plex Media Server
Restart The Plex Media Server
Wait 5 minutes
Recreate the problem using the Himedia Q10
Wait another 2 Minutes
Go to Plex Server again and go to Settings>Troubleshooting
Click Download Logs
Attach them here to your Post.

Thank you for the feedback. I have Plex on two TVs and just on the projector. The control panel is displayed differently everywhere. With the beamer it is difficult to copy out the data requested by you, drag and drop will not work there. I will try it anyway. It could have been that this problem occurs more frequently in connection with the use of said media player.

99.9% of the information I said you would need is from the Server, not from the clients/devices. This would be your PC or wherever you have the plex media server installed. You would need to access the Plex Media Server settings on the server, you cannot access it from a client, unless you go to https://app.plex.tv/desktop#!/settings/web/general

OK, so if I chance the settings on the PC, this will have an effect on the Plex App at the Himedia Player? Please excuse my stupid questions, but I am a technical disabled Lady…
:joy:

It works on other devices, but not the Himedia. That’s telling a pretty big part of the story.

How are you connecting that? Is it Wi-fi or Ethernet? Has anything network related changed lately? New routers, updated firmware, etc? Does it work with older media and not new, or not at all with either?
