Hi,
On certain media files I get the following error during video playback “We’re having trouble playing this video please check your playback setup”
I’ve got a Windows 10 box running Plex Media Server and a Windows 10 HTPC running the Plex Media Centre windows App, both are connected on a gigabit switch.
Please let me know your thoughts/troubleshooting steps.

Which app is that? Have you tried the others that exists as an HTPC alternative (OpenPHT, PMP)?

This is from the latest Plex Home Theatre app downloaded from the Windows Store on Windows 10. I’ve noted that this issue occurs only in this app and the dated Plex app on my smart TV plays the same movie just fine. Any ideas?

The app from the Windows store isn’t aimed towards HTPC. It is more akin to tablet, mobile phones etc. It has its advantages for sure on a PC / laptop such as the sync function (if it still remains) but on a HTPC I’d strongly recommend you to download OpenPHT or PlexMediaPlayer and try those instead. They will offer far better codec support and in turn, better performance/quality.

I didn’t even realise they still had Plex Media Player available, I assumed they binned it and replaced it with the Windows App but I’ve found it now.
