Unable to play podcasts

Was this announced anywhere???

@mbc663, I checked the Announcements section of the forum and found nothing about Tidal and podcasts. I also tried a general overall search of the forum and only this thread shows up. I checked my e-mail too.

I think this is just a recent bug. At least I hope it is. The “Tidal Fix” is only a temporary solution at this point.

I think we will have to wait for the difference in time zones for @elan to chime in on this thread.

Although the temporary “Tidal Fix” works, let’s not all jump to any conclusions yet please and wait for either @elan or another Plex team member to chime in.

@cagey215 - Thank you for the reply. I hope it’s just a bug as well and will keep an eye on this thread

I am also experiencing this issue. Last night on my drive home from work my podcasts were functioning normally and now none of them are playing

I have discovered that this is also happening with the NEWS section.

Definitely something on Plex’s end where they’re pulling from outside sources.

I’ve sent up the :bat:-signal, @ejmartin504 and others are looking into it! We’re really sorry you’re running into this.

To echo @elan here, we’re very sorry to hear about this. It is likely due to an update we shipped this morning involving play queues. I’m actively looking into this now. In the meantime, would anyone who is experiencing this issue mind attaching device logs?

I appreciate the effort. Adding podcasts was one of the most awesome things Plex has ever done. Some here might get a chuckle out of this: From 2007-ish up until Plex offered podcasts that could be listened to on both the Shield, web browser and mobile device, I used a Microsoft Zune. Yes
I used a Zune for 11 years. I tried ditching it, but all the other podcasting apps sucked. But then Plex gave me the ability to listen to a podcast while I was out for a walk, then pick up where I left off in my living room with the Shield when I got home. That’s what it took to get me to ditch my Zune.

Here ya go

Ditto. I can’t get a podcast to work on the android app nor the web client today. Yesterday, they were working great.

I surely miss my podcasts.

yes im getting 403 from https://play.provider.plex.tv/queues
that says <Error statusCode="403" error="Forbidden" message="'chrillep' does not have a linked Tidal account!"/> .
After linking my Tidal account. I get
<Error statusCode="403" error="Forbidden" message="'chrillep' has an expired Tidal subscription!"/> when trying to play podcasts, news or webshows

Seems like it’s not looking at uri=provider://tv.plex.provider.webshows
and handling all providers as tidal

Same issue with me. No “online content” like podcasts or web shows will play using the Windows 10 app/interface/program (or what ever the kids call it these days
). Things play fine on my Android phone, but while sitting at work the Windows 10 interface is much preferable.

@ejmartin504 now it’s working again! Cheers!

I was glad to have podcasts back last night. I grabbed my headphones and went for a walk just because podcasts were working again. Thanks @chrillep for finding the Tidal subscription error message. I never even knew about that play.provider.plex.tv website.

Hello! I’m glad that all of you seem to be able to play podcasts on Plex, but I still cannot.

Even synched podcasts will only play a second, then the app will restart.

Here is the log.

Threads like this make me so glad I ditched podcasts on Plex. TV and Movies still work great, but Podcasts has been god-awful since launch.

Do yourself a favor and find another app for podcasts. Plex just ain’t it (at least yet).
