I was able to add library and could see files in folder on external drive when adding folder to library.
However no files in library when I look on media server.

You must name and organize your files according to Plex requirements.
Do not use the Downloads folder, where Plex might scan non-media items.
No mixing movies and TV shows
Each show, or movie, in its own folder
Example:
d:\media
..\movies <-- folder added to movie library
....\Avatar (2009) <-- movie_name (year)
......\Avatar (2009).mkv
..\tv shows <-- folder added to show library
....\3 Body Problem (2024) <--- ShowName (Intro Year)
......\Season 01
........\3 Body Problem (2024) s01e01 Countdown.ext <-- sXXeYY required, episode name optional, ext = mkv/mp4/etc.
