Unable to see my Synology NAS in Authorised devices

I am unable to see my Synology NAS as an authorised device and therefor unable to add library

I have checked permissions on file station are correct for user Plex set to R/W
I have uninstalled and re-installed Plex Media Server several times but it will not link with my Plex account. I previously had it installed on this NAS 5 years ago with a different account

Are you accessing the new Plex Media Server on your dates Synology NAS through its local IP address / the bundled web app?

When first running a new server you need to complete the setup that way (e.g. in order to claim it); otherwise the server will not show as device associated with your account.

Yes I use the Plex media server through the web app and when I first ran it I completed the setup but it did not present my NAS to associate with

This is not about using the web app in general. You can only claim the server when connected directly to the server’s ip.

Can you open the PMS on the Synology using the Synology’s ip and check if the server is signed into your account?
Settings > [Server Name] > General

When I go into Settings on the PMS using Synology IP it does not show the server

Have you been using a different Plex account when setting up your server?

Yes, I had an old Plex account on this NAS about 5 years ago but lost access to it
