I’ve got a rather odd issue. I’m a plex pass member.
I’ve sync’d some movies in the past from a server that’s no longer existed.
I just realised that the sync’d movies are now still on my tablet and I cannot unsync it.
I kept getting a message saying that I need to be a premium plex pass in order to access this feature.
Any idea how can I remove these from tablet?
The thing is, these movies are syncvd onto my external drive, so not sure if they’ll get removed if I uninstall plex?
Any thoughts or advise be much appreciated. Thanks
Is the tablet signed in to your own Plex account?
Does this message appear when you go to the “Downloads & Sync” library?
If you can get to that, there is a MANAGE link in the upper, right corner.
Apart from that, I only know the “nuclear” way of uninstalling the app, rebooting the device and then re-installing the plex app.
The message only appears when I click on the sync icon of a particular movie that I have sync’d.
Generally that’s the icon I use when I want to sync or when I want to unsync. So when I click on that icon, only then the message appear.
I’m trying to avoid uninstalling it, because I do not want the movie files stayed dormant within my SD card because the new installed plex no longer recognised those files.
Or are you saying that by uninstalling plex, it will also remove all preciously sync’ d movies?
As I thought, removing plex didn’t actually remove the movies sync’d onto my micro sd card. The newly installed plex doesn’t know that there’s movies left in the sd card, but I can see that some storage are still taken by those movies because the available space is only 80GB from a 128GB.
Don you know which folder exactly the sync’d movies should be in?
After connecting my Android phone per USB to my computer, I have found my synced content in the folder phone > SD card > Android > data > com.plexapp.android
So if you still have such a folder, even after uninstalling the Plex app, I think it is safe to completely remove it.
