I have noticed that my libraries are no longer being updated with new media, that I cannot modify my libraries and playback buffers continuously.
It all started when I noticed that one particular show I enjoy watching would not update in PMS, even though the show is being recorded by PMS Live TV + DVR and is downloaded by Sonarr (I watch the better copy).
I tried tweaking my library scanning agents, but was met with the error, “Your changes could not be saved.”
I tried deleting and recreating the library, “Television”, but now the entire library will not update with new media.
I uninstalled + reinstalled PMS for Windows 1.13.6.5339 and now no libraries will update new media.
I think it’s time to completely uninstall + delete all traces of PMS, then reinstall, but then I have to rebuild all of my libraries from scratch.
I am able to play the media in VLC, directly off the drive, but PMS does not see or cannot play it.
Is there any other troubleshooting steps I can take to avoid having to obliterate my PMS installation?
Thanks, @OttoKerner, I reviewed the logs and there is no mention of malformed or corrupt database files so I couldn’t bother with repairing the DB. I closed PMS and deleted all the files in the “…\Databases” folder then restarted my PC and PMS.
Now, there are no libraries in PMS and I’m not able to create any libraries. I’m still getting the error, “Your changes could not be saved.”
I’ve already tried that. My next step is to check the access permissions for the install or DB folders, failing that, to install PMS in the root folder of C:\ instead of “… Program Files x86”
Edit 1: I had debugging and verbosity disabled for these logs. I’ll edit this post again once I upload the correct logs. Edit 2: The verbose logs have been uploaded and the link updated.
Thanks for looking into this problem for me, @OttoKerner, but I was able to solve the problem.
PMS was configured to use IPv6 and to listen on local IPv4 interface. My router was not issuing a public-routable IPv6 address, causing PMS to be confused.
I disabled IPv6 connectivity and now I’m able to create, modify and update my libraries and their contents!
I didn’t realize how server-dependent PMS is or that PMS is not fully compatible with IPv6. To ensure that things are back to normal, I’ve enabled IPv6 in PMS again, set PMS to listen on all interfaces and restarted my router.
