I posted this in the Android section, but got no response:
Tried searching around, and couldn’t find anyone with the same issue.
The issue is, that I can start an item from the Android app, and it will cast just fine to the PMP. However, I cannot use the seekbar. Also, the loading icon/circle, just spins endlessly.
The Android app works on any other device (PHT, Chromecast) just fine. It’s just PMP that has this issue.
I’m using the Embedded 64-Bit PMP image, on an Intel NUC device and have also tried on the RPi 2 PMP.
Do I have the plague or something?!?! I’ve posted in two areas and contacted a developer. Nothing from 3 sources.
This being in the paid section of the forums, has me very disheartened. There used to be a time when the Plex team would work with me on issues and questions. Even the redundant ones. What’s happened?

PMP does not support seeking, yet.
Soooo… Why does it work on my tablet then?
What works on the tablet (what tablet btw?)? Seeking?
You can seek when you use the Android app on a tablet and cast the video to PMP on a NUC?
Seeking/the progress of what’s playing (which I guess is part of the seekbar). So I can see the duration of a show I’m currently watching. And as said in OP, pause/play doesn’t update (only shows play icon, whether paused or playing).
I am using a Nexus 7 (2013), running Android 6.
Correct. I can use my Nexus 7 to properly control the PMP on my NUC/Rpi2 (same issue on both). However I can not use my cell phone to do so (HTC One M9). On the phone, the duration, play/pause buton, and seekbar do not work on either PMP device.

That is weird. I guess it is the Android app on both devices, right?
Have you compared the exact version of the Android app on both of your devices? Is one of them a bit behind?
A second possibility could be a difference in the WiFi implementation. Possible that the wireless adapter on the phone is switched off for power saving and therefore loses connection.
But that is just me speculating.
I will ask someone more knowledgeable.

Sorry for the late reply. Both devices are running the most recent app version. Both devices have Wi-Fi set to always on (even when screen off).
Hi @d2dyno , sorry to hear you are having problems.
Just to be clear, you’re saying that having installed PMP on your NUC/Rpi2, you can see duration and control content progress from your Nexus 7 but it doesn’t work for your HTC One M9? Could you post here some logs from both devices playing same content? It’ll help us to identify what’s going on.

@d2dyno First, sorry for the delay.
I’ve checked your logs and the only difference I’ve noticed is that your HTC ONE M9 is able to direct stream audio, whereas the Nexus 7 is unable (that happens because the difference of audio codecs the two devices have). We’ve fixed some issues around the code which handles video duration and how it can be modified when direct streaming audio, so I’d kindly ask you if you can be aware of upcoming releases and check if it has been fixed.
