Hello, since some time, maybe since last update, I have noticed that unavailable file path are not removed from TV Shows.
because a new file replaces the old one, I can view the episode, but the media info displays old/unvailable and new path.
it also make the episode appear as duplicate.
Library scan, clean or trash empty does not change anything.
this issue is not affecting movies wich make me think of a bug os some type.
any ideas or suggestion?
thanks
After deleting files, you should always trigger a library scan, followed by empty trash.
If this isn’t clearing out the deleted files, there are usually two possible reasons:
- there is at least one folder added to the “Add Folders” tab in the library properties, which is either non-existent, or inaccessible, or completely empty. In either of these cases, “Empty Trash” will not be performed.
- the primary Plex database file is damaged and must be repaired
thanks for the answer.
I have tried the library scan and empty trash manually even if it is set to do it in the library settings.
the problem only exist on tv shows and not on movie libraries and nothing has changed in the settings during the last couple months.
there is no folder story, the episode is just replaced by another with better quality or different language and the old path stays in the media info.
the DB could be damaged but I don’t see anything else not working.
if it is the case, how to repair it? if your thinking of the optimize database button, it’s already tried :-/
I’m not sure what you mean by this.
Have you checked the “Add Folders” tab?
https://support.plex.tv/articles/repair-a-corrupted-database/
or a scripted version of the procedure: GitHub - ChuckPa/PlexDBRepair: Database repair utility for Plex Media Server databases
I see, I was talking about the folder containing the episodes.
but I have only one folder in the “add folders” tab in the library edit options if that was your question ![]()
When I change an episode I put it exactly where the old one was, so it can’t be the issue
I’ll try the db stuff on my backup db to see if there is anything.
thanks
