Unmatching files from episodes

I have a TV show that has following folder structure:

TV Show Name
-------Season 1
--------------Extras
-------Season 2
--------------Extras
etc…

I have issue that some of the files in the extras folders are wrongly matched with an episode in a season. For example extras from season 2 could be matched to episode 5 from season 1.

Is there a way to unmatch those file from an episode without moving these files to another location which is not assigned to plex.

Is there a way to tell Plex not to check files below Season folders?

Are you already using the new (beta) tv show library?
If not, you cannot have extras per season.
How are the mismatched episode files named?

Also… even if you’re already using the new agent beta, Plex does not support a general „extras“ folder. Instead you’ll need to assign them to dedicated subfolders per extra category (e.g. deleted scenes, shorts, featurettes…)

Edit:
For movie extras, Plex used to completely ignore the content of a folder named „extras“… might be a bug/issue/change if that media is actually found in your setup

I’m not using new tv show library.
I actually wanted Plex to ignore extra folder and content in it.
But if this new beta library can detect extra categories I could give that a try.

Is there any link where I can read more about this new beta tv show library?

These two files are both Matched with Season 1 Episode 1

If your library language is not English, I’d wait with using the new TV agent. It still has some issues around internationalized metadata.

For now, I recommend you to remove those extras and “park” them somewhere outside the media folder of your plex libraries.
