I setup a pretty beefy Unraid server with 30000 video files and 20000 music files about 4 years ago with an AMD Threadripper 48 thread CPU. 128GB of Ram. I initially setup the Plex Server Docker with 10 CPU’s Later I added an NVIDIA Quadro P2000 video card. The P2000 does not miss a beat transcoding even with 10 streams running at the same time… Now I’m needing to repurpose more CPUs to my datacenter VM’s in Unraid, My question is how many CPUs does the Plex Docker need when the P2000 does all the transcoding work?
