I have that on, but I have to go into the series to see the unwatched episode count. I like it how it was where when I was browsing through series it showed me the unwatched episode count. It still does this on my Roku app, which I am never updating for this lol.
The way I have it set, I still get the unwatched count on my Roku, iOS and Web for TV shows.
This is my Library view:
On my TV hub row on Home it shows it as well:
I have the account setting for watched indicators set as “TV Shows”:
With that set, my movie library doesn’t show any watched\unwatched indicators but all my TV shows have watched checkmarks or unwatched episode count at the show and season level on Web, Roku and iOS.
It’s not exactly how I wished the options worked out but they are okay for me; I really didn’t like having watched flags. I actually prefer having no flags in my movie library because I know what I have or haven’t watched and I use smart collections to bubble up things I haven’t watched. I’ve got comments earlier in this thread that covers some of that perspective in more detail and how I do that if anybody cares. 
@dalamar666 that sounds like a bug. Which client are you seeing this on? Which version?
@Insomnic_1 has it right, if any of the options that enable watched indicator on TV Shows should be showing the unwatched count on the show poster.
