Update loses screen scrolling

Scrolling with mouse no longer works,this is not acceptable as a new feature.

Can you elaborate a bit?

Plex client and version?
Platform - Windows/Mac/Linux/etc?

Any additional details will be helpful. Are you in a specific screen/view? Did it work with a prior release, and if so, do you know which version?

This will help others trying to replicate/diagnose the problem.

Version 1.47.1.3086-6c3d964f, I am using Windows 10 on my PC. when using the music or movie library the scrolling through the titles no longer works. I cannot believe how this feature is now missing as it is the main way of navigating through ones media. All other apps have this feature such as Youtube or Kodi.

I’m not sure why it is not working on your PC, but it is not missing.

On my PC I can use the mouse wheel to scroll up and down through my movies. I can also click & hold the bar on the right side to move through the library. When movies are listed by Title, clicking on a letter also moves to the correct location in the library.

Two suggestions:

  1. Update to the current release 1.48.2.
    Available at https://www.plex.tv/media-server-downloads/#plex-app.

  2. If that does not work, then completely remove & re-install Plex for Windows Desktop.
    Uninstall using Windows control panel.
    Delete %LOCALAPPDATA%\Plex
    Reboot your PC.
    Re-install Plex for Windows Desktop
    See Plex Desktop → Introduction & Installation for additional details.

Note: If you also have Plex Media Server running on the same PC, take care to not remove the Plex Data Directory, %LOCALAPPDATA%\Plex Media Server, containing the server’s database, metadata, etc.

Thank you so much for your help, I have updated to version 1.48.2 and then I noticed that I have 3 PLEX options in my start menu. I now opened the “Plex media player” and everything is working fine. The option I was using is just titled “Plex” I’m not sure what that is maybe it’s an old program.
Anyway thanks again for your help I’m now a happy Plex user again.

PMP is deprecated and will not receive any updates. It can already not display all of your media if you use certain newer Plex features.

Go into your Windows settings, look for the Mouse settings.
Look for an activate the switch “Scroll inactive windows when I hover over them”. (which is also the default)
