Fix scrolling in Windows app?

The Windows Plex app fails 99% of the time to respond to a simple mouse-wheel scroll, maybe because the devs have concentrated on tablet use. But it would be great if they could fix this, since scrolling through 2k+ movies in that app is a bit of a nightmare without scroll-wheel recognition.

Sure, you can use the middle-click to scroll, but unfortunately the app implements rapid acceleration, so that within a millisecond you have shot past where you were in the list.

So please, devs, get scrolling reliable and working again!

Scroll wheel works for me (wireless Logitech), as well as PgUp/PgDn

Please clarify which app you are using. There are 3 currently supported apps on Windows and a few more deprecated ones.

Well, it is signed by Plex, Inc., but behaves like an Electron app, with no conventional way to find out anything more about the program, such as an ‘About’ menu. Only at the point of the frequent forced updates is there a chance to take a note of the latest build name, and I’m afraid I did not do that when it last auto-updated.

I see, you mean the “Plex for Windows” desktop app.

I don’t see any change in mouse wheel scrolling over here. (Logitech as well)
The behavior is pretty much the same as the Plex web app (which is the basis for the user interface).

Have you modified your mouse settings in some way? e.g. changed the number of lines to scroll or similar?

Not that I’m aware of. It shouldn’t make a difference, and scrolling should work with any mouse. Mine is a bog-standard mouse, but I have used the Windows desktop Plex app with other mice, and scrolling didn’t work with any of them for a long time.

When running the app itself, do you have access to the settings? That is, can you go here?:

Try this

Start menu → Settings → Devices → Mouse → turn on “scroll inactive windows when I hover over them”

Blockquote Start menu → Settings → Devices → Mouse → turn on “scroll inactive windows when I hover over them”

Well, this certainly works, but I absolutely hate that setting, and yes, it is normally turned off. It is hard to believe that a focused and front-most program would rely on it to detect scroll events.
