Update Play on Mac that That is Older

Player Version#: 1.30.0.2105-43a11204

One of my MACs is a 2010 Mac Pro - this computer cannot be updated past it current OS version of 10.13.6. I notice that the current release for Mac Player is 1.9…

Is there an older but higher version for the Mac OS that I am currently running?

Maybe Plex for Mac, Windows, and Linux - #89 by Moussa

Not sure I follow you. I clicked on this and there are a lot of comments regarding new releases for Windows, Macs and Linux, but I don’t see any download links nor OS versions except the latest. But, I will keep looking

It was merely a tip which version started to require 10.14+
Plex is not making available older versions of the software officially.

Okay, so I guess I need to stay on the current version of 1.30.0… for now with this particular Mac

Thanks anyway

I am really at an impasse here. Nothing is working on the Mac OS or Windows 11 Pro version of either Plex Media Player OR Plex Media Server. I can no longer access anything on my Plex from there. I have tried everything that I can think of to resolve this. I continue to get the error “Something went wrong” An unexpected error occurred.

No one is even trying to help me or others that have run into this problem. I have a lot of projects that I am trying to accomplish and this is really holding me up.

I have rebooted both the PC and the Mac machines and have not gotten any further. I go to an older Mac (Mid 2010 Mac Pro) and I can access it all regardless of whether it is the Servers on Synology NAS drives or the Mac Studio. If I go to my iPhone 15 Pro Max, I am able to access them as well. But, for some reason, trying to view images and videos from either my HP PC Windows 11 Pro or my Mac Studio with MOST current OS (Sonoma) version on it gives me the error. I need HELP!

Announcement below has the last versions of Plex Desktop and Plex HTPC that run on macOS 10.13. No idea how well either run on Macs from 2010.

I want to solve the Mac issue first before moving onto the PC issue because my main imaging is worked on the Mac Studio. I am NOT having any issue accessing the Plex Server Media on the Mac Studio from my other computers. It is JUST this Mac (and the one PC). The player on the Mac Studio is running Mac OS Sonoma 14.5. If I am looking at this correctly on the settings. My Mac Studio is running Plex Player Version 1.97.2.190-ca5000d0 & the Plex Server on this Mac Studio is running Version 1.40.4.8679. If I try to access ANY image/video on this Mac Studio using either of those apps, I am getting the error. If I try to log into the server through the Web, using Plex.TV, I am getting the error.

What is the HTPC for? Is that the most current version for the PC?

Plex HTPC is for Home Theater users that connect their Personal Computer directly to their TV, typically controlling it using a third-party remote. It has the look and feel of the Plex Smart TV apps (LG, Samsung, etc.).

I no longer run Plex server or clients on a Mac, so will be of limited help in troubleshooting Mac specific issues. I was just providing a pointer to the last version of Plex Desktop that runs on macOS 10.13.

If you are having trouble accessing Plex Media Server on the Mac Studio, suggest you open a separate thread. You opened this thread asking for Plex Desktop that runs on a 2010 Mac Pro. People that can help with troubleshooting PMS on a Mac may skip over the thread, not realizing it has morphed from finding older client software to troubleshooting access.

I will try that as well. By the way, I run my Apple TV Plex app so we can look at all of the images/videos and it works great. I can access both Synology NAS Plex Media Servers as well as the Mac Studio Plex Media Server with NO error. And actually I do have another thread on “Player Mac”, but no one seems to take an interest in responding, much less grabbing notice from Plex people themselves

I will try to locate a different place to put my thread.
